I’m Stuck

Fall 2024

I’m stuck.

Frustratingly stuck.

I don’t know where to turn and the effort

Taken in explaining why the turning is yet

Unfinished is racking my frame. Like the

Reform wrecked slavery… That was

Not an immediate change, but a molasses pulled from the

Mandate that came from

Years of frustrated, women, and men and

Even the smallest,

Yes, the smallest metamorphosis took

Eons, it

Seemed.

Truly, it seems to take eons for my

Head to follow the thought… a new path… and

Ever I am snared between “I

Really need to move! Now! And the

Endless anxious “I don’t think I have what it takes.”

You and I both know that unless that overseeing

Ogre christened “Self-Doubt” is

Usurped we will see me two weeks from now,

Arguing with the same raging giant; and I so desperately

Realize I cannot do this without the

Eternal ones hands—

Lord? Lover

Of my soul? Are you there? Will you make me

Ready to turn?

Dare I move now?
