If you want to build a house in three days, you need the right materials.
You will need:
wood,
some nails,
a hammer or two.
You will need a good strong team of guys to help you
(twelve should do),
and women to find the Gardener.
You’d be remiss if you get anything less than
the best architect--
the blueprints drawn up impeccably,
the execution of it must be precise [meticulous(ly)],
timely,
and ex-act-ly according to plan.
The details must be attended to
and every promise kept--
you have no room for statistical errors you’ll regret.
If you want to build a house in three days
(and you want it to last forever),
you’ll need to build upon a firm foundation,
the cornerstone of the thing must be perfect,
not a single spot of weakness nor the smallest defect;
I do counsel you,
the best cornerstone is the One builders often reject.
Don’t look over the unsightly,
that stone which has no beauty nor majesty,
the undesired.
***
Now, in all fairness,
I should warn;
you will be mocked.
The lawyers may insist on taking you to court
for the haste of the plan,
which will take much sacrifice...
It may, for a time, look even like a total loss.
However, you shall succeed if you decide to set your face like flint,
obey every law to the smallest letter,
throw off every hindrance
and expectation
(i.e. for what purpose the house is to be built;
what and who may enter;
and the need to be understood).
If you want to build a house in three days,
you will need to
break the chains of depression,
heal sickness,
care for the weak,
uplift the down-trodden,
honor the poor,
accept the unaccepted,
turn back death,
challenge the religious,
give up your rights,
carry the weight of every burden,
lay down your life,
forgive those who kill you,
offer your love--
all of your love,
and be separated in one fell swoop
from the Father you’ve been in closest relationship with for
all eternity past,
defeat the power of your very grave
--and then rise again.
